Where is Santa Pola?
Santa Pola is located on the Costa Blanca in the South East region of Spain. Alicante is to the north, Elche is to the west, and to the south by Rojales, Torrevieja, Guardamar del Segura, Orihuela, and Murcia.The nearest Airport to Santa Pola is Alicante airport. There are also two other airports in the region, Valencia Airport to the north and Murcia airport to the south.

There is no real municipal transport in this area so you truly need to rent a car. The city of Santa Pola is really well appointed when it comes to bars, restaurants, and shops, so you will not have to trek very far. There are some picturesque parts around here and it would be a shame not to see them, and Santa Pola car rental will allow you to enlarge your horizons a bit more. When you arrive at the airport, there are a lot of car rental companies. Also, you will find lots of Santa Pola car hire companies, and others in the region, to select from.
What to see in Santa Pola
Santa Paula is located in the Valencia and community south of Alicante, in the Costa Blanca. The population, which includes 10,000 residents from the town of Gran Alicant, is about 30,000. The salt evaporation ponds is one of the important areas, although this area still remains in business it is recognised as a natural park. A castle was constructed in the 16th century to defend and protect the sailors and fishermen from pirate attacks which were a frequent occurrence all along the coastline here. Although this wasn’t the first settlement in Santa Pola. It is reckoned that there were seven is here while before Christ walked here. The Romans first settled on these shores in the first century BC. Santa Pola was actually settled on top of the ruins of the Roman settlement, known as Portus Llicitanus which means harbor of Elche. All of these phases are covered in an archaeological museum which is situated in Santa Pola Alicante. Today, Santa Pola is a tourist town and a fishing town. Many people come here during the tourist season from all over Spain, from France, and the UK to mention just a few, and the town literally doubles in population during the tourist season. The Spanish love to come here and eat into squares and plasmas, laze along the miles of Mediterranean beach, and take up those relaxing rays of sun There is an island just off the coast called Tabarca, which you can visit by ship.
Gran Alicant is a new town which is situated only five calamitous to the north of Santa Pola. There is is over 11 km of beach which border the beautiful crystalline waters of the Mediterranean. The beaches are absolutely wonderful for both adults and children because they are very shallow or stop there are some beautiful uncrowded bays, and access to beachfront entertainment, access to the disabled, walkways made of wood, litter bins, toilets, deckchairs for rent, Fountains for washing your feet, plenty of sports. You can place plenty of water down on the beach including windsurfing, diving, and Kate surfing.
There is also some fantastic sites to see in the local area. Not only can you drive up and down the coast to visit many of the other beaches, you can visit the cities of Alicante Benidorm for some fabulous nightlife. That’s not to say that Santa Pola does not offer some great nightlife, it does, along with some great restaurants and bars. There are also the two theme parks which are adjacent to Benidorm called Terra Mitica and Terra Natura. Plus if you’re interested in Santa Pola golfing, there are so many different golf courses in the region free to choose from.
Where can you eat in Santa Pola
There is so much delightful cuisine on hand in this area from many diverse nationalities including Hungarian, Cantonese, Indian, Chinese, Dutch, German, English, and last but by no means least the wonderfully diverse Spanish cuisine. The cookery reflects the diversity of the region; you should by no means be stumped for deals when dining. Two of the good restaurants in the area include Playa and Polamar.
The weather in Santa Pola
Just like everywhere in the locality, the climate in Santa Pola are generally fairly hot and sun-drenched. The summer climate is in the main hot with the winter temperatures generally being very warm. Rain does not turn up frequently but it is well established that it does rainfall every now and then. It can frequently signify an invigorating rest from the continuous heat.
