Quesada Alicante Pioneer Dies Aged 83

Quesada businessman and property developer Justo Quesada Samper has died aged 83. He passed away in St Jaime Hospital of Torrevieja. He fell ill and was taken to hospital where a heart problem was diagnosed. Emergency surgery was performed what he did not survive. He was buried in Quesada on Saturday, 16 January 2010.

Senor Quesada was the real estate promoter who built the town of Quesada and La Marquesa golf course. Quesada was finally awarded the honor of becoming a town in 1999 when the town hall was opened and Quesada has carried on growing ever since.

Senor Quesada was born in 1926 in the neighboring town of Orihuela and he spent all of his life living in the area. He lived in Rojales, Elche, and he lived in San Miguel de Salinas. It was while living in this latter town that he met his future wife with whom he had five children. Although in recent years he had taken a back seat in the development of the town in favor of his children, his name will always be remembered as a man of passion in Spanish tourism and in the development of property in Spain.
