Where is Polop?

Polop is located on the Costa Blanca in the South East territory of Spain. Polop is located to the north of Benidorm, to the south west of Javea and Denia, and the North East of Alicante and Elche. Elche is home to one of the main airports in the region, Alicante airport. There are two other airports one in Murcia (San Javier Murcia airport)and one in Valencia(Valencia airport). If you’re coming by car you can arrive here via the CV-7675 or the CV-715 also known as Carretera de Callosa d’Ensarria.

You’re much better off to try and rent a car from a major city such as Benidorm or Calpe. You are going to get cheaper rates here. What to see in Polop

The municipal of Polop is built on top of a hill, near a castle, north of Benidorm. Tourists will enjoy seeing the natural beauty surrounding the village. One of these is what is known as the medieval wall, on top of which you can see the former cemetery where some of the more ancient civilizations were buried. Another important landmark is the St. Peter’s Church and the Shrine of the Divine Aurora. Built during the 18th century, both religious monuments are built right beside each other. Most significant of the structures may be the Polop Castle itself. Of Moorish origin, the castle was built during the twelfth century with a military purpose. It sits on a hill close to the village.

Much like several of the small Spanish towns in Valencia, the town also celebrates the Schutzheiligenfest. This is a celebration dedicated to the village’s patron saint. In the case of the town of Polop, it is St. Francis of Assisi. This festival is held annually on October 3.

The food in this province is a combination of Spanish, English, German, Dutch, Chinese, Indian, Cantonese, Hungarian, and I am confident if you search hard enough you will find almost any cuisine from any part of the world. If you cannot see cuisine to fit your likes and dislikes in this place than there is something not right with your liking. The food here is very Mediterranean way as many Moorish qualities. A lot of the cooking involves natural ingredients that are found in the fields and orchards and because the area is close to the sea you will find plenty of fresh seafood. The climate in Polop are generally sunny, just like it is everywhere on the Costa Blanca. You are practically assured of sunshine all through the year.
