Its name was derived from the Rocamora family who were supporters of King James I. Muslim families continued to reside in the area up until their expulsion beginning 1609. After such time, much of the land has been divided among the farmers who continued to reside in the area.

Architecture

Currently converted to a privately owned residence, the structure was originally built during the 12th century as a defensive structure for the Arabs that initially resided in the town. From May1-3, floral parades go through the town in celebration of these events. Later on in the year, October 7 is when the feast dedicated to Virgen del Rosario is celebrated. This event is observed alongside the month of Aurora wherein weekends are allocated for residents singing various songs. It is an event for the entire community as songs originating from the 18th century are passed on to the next generation.
