History
The history of the municipality of the Granja de Rocamora is similar to other villages in the surrounding area. Its origins can be traced back to a farmhouse built by Muslims. Its name was derived from the Rocamora family who were supporters of King James I. During that time members of this clan also owned several other estates including the town of Benferri and the Puebla de Rocamora. The municipality gained its independence in 1565. Muslim families continued to reside in the area up until their expulsion beginning 1609. After such time, much of the land has been divided among the farmers who continued to reside in the area.
Architecture
There are quite a number of architectural attractions worth noting in the town of Granja de Rocamora. One is the Torre Mora. Currently converted to a privately owned residence, the structure was originally built during the 12th century as a defensive structure for the Arabs that initially resided in the town. Another structure worth visiting is the Church of St. Peter the Apostle. Although initially constructed during the 18th century, it has recently been renovated. It is recognizable for its large central dome as well as its paintings, which have been relocated to different areas of the parish. The town has another chapel which is known as La Ermita de la Cruz. It was also recently remodeled in 1996.

Beginning on the 29th of June each year, it is a three day celebration consisting of various activities. A more nationally celebrated event is the Cruz de Mayo, celebrated during the third day of May. Also celebrated during this time is the Moors and Christians Parade. From May1-3, floral parades go through the town in celebration of these events. Later on in the year, October 7 is when the feast dedicated to Virgen del Rosario is celebrated. This event is observed alongside the month of Aurora wherein weekends are allocated for residents singing various songs. It is an event for the entire community as songs originating from the 18th century are passed on to the next generation.

The local community of Granja de Rocamora is active in a number of sports. They also have several sporting facilities for public use which tourists can take advantage of. The town has at least two
