The location of Crevillente is in the South East of Spain, in the zone called the Costa Blanca. It is located to the west of Elche, to the south of Alicante and the Benidorm, and to the north of Torrevieja and Murcia. The Provincial airport is Alicante Airport which is very close. Crevillente is a town with a population of almost 28,000 which is located in the province of Alicante. The tourist should also take a look at the Del Hondo National Park. You can get to the park from the Alicante – Murcia motorway, exit 76. The Natural Park El Hondo is a wetland with an area of 2387 hectares. This environmental wetland is an ecological pocket of great interest, not only for its flora and fauna but also for the wide variety of species which inhabit the area and migrate either into the national park or make a stop here on their way through to other destinations. El Hondo was given national park status in 1998. There are a couple of endangered species in the animal world and some magnificent specimens of flora.

One of the main festivals here is the Festival of the Moors and Christians. This is held in honor of the patron saint of the town, St Francis of Assisi. The festivities begin on the first weekend of October. The daily urban bustle is replaced by an explosion of light, color, fireworks, and music. The true originality of this festival is in marketing its historical foundations, as manifested in the names of the groups (Astures, Almogávares, Bedouins, benimerines, …), some of these go back to the Crevillente of the thirteenth century and whose originality is that there are no winners or losers, it is a true symbol of brotherhood and tolerance between the two-Moorish and Christian communities. There is a market that opens here every Friday.

The sporting enthusiasts, there is plenty to do in the region including visiting the local beaches of Torrevieja, Valencia, and Santa Pola. Here you will find a variety of different activities, not including sunbathing, such as windsurfing, diving, and waterskiing.
