What is the position of Catral?

Catral is situated in the Costa Blanca, in the Alicante area in between Valencia and Murcia. Some of the nearest towns and cities include Dolores, Guardamar del Segura, Elche, Orihuela, Torrevieja, and Rojales. there are two good options when it comes to taking a flight into the province and getting to Catral. The first option is by coming into the provincial airport. Alicante airport is only a short drive. Next, there is the option of coming through the southern province of Murcia. San Javier Murcia airport is a straight route along with the AP7 motorway. A little bit further away is Valencia airport to the north. This is a bit of a drive and should only be undertaken if the beautiful countryside of Northern Alicante and Southern Valencia in the itinerary.

You can stay in many different places here counting guest houses, Catral hotels, self catering accommodation, and camping facilities. You will find Catral accommodation to match all levels of finance. There is also broad selection of lodging styles in the nearest towns of Rojales, San Isidro, Cox, Callosa de Segura, Ciudad Quesada, Guardamar, Benijuzar, and Benijofar.

There is no real community transport in this locale so you certainly need to hire a car. You do not have to go very far because the center of Catral is actually well apportioned with lots of restaurants, shops, and bars. . But there is a huge amount to see in this locale and by using a Catral car hire you will be able to benefit from the surrounding areas. When you arrive at the airport, there are lots of car hire companies. Also, you will find loads of Catral car hire companies to choose from

What to see in Catral

Catral is a small town in the province of Alicante. As of 2006, Catral is a population of 7530. Like many towns in this region, and the economy is traditionally based around agriculture. The plugs all of tourism and expatriate to the area has seen a huge eggs and in all the building industry. This has brought Catral Alicante into the spotlight because much of this building has been done illegally under noses of the then deciding local mayor and town council.

This town is very Spanish, which is unusual for the region because of the influence of ex-patriots and tourists, and there’s a lot to offer for the visitor. Catral is located close to the two villages of Dolores and Almoradi and roughly 10 minutes drive from the seaside resort of one where you will find all sorts of entertainment including sense culture is, a beautiful promenade, plenty of shops and restaurants, and a great evening market.

Although there are no markets held in Catral, you are spoilt for choice when it comes to the surrounding areas. Almoradi market is held every Saturday morning, and there are several markets around one Guardamar.

If you are looking for a game entertainment, you have plenty of choices around Catral. You can choose to head north towards Alicante, Elche, or Benidorm, or you can head south towards Rojales, Ciudad Quesada, or Torrevieja. There is also plenty to do around Catral itself. If you’re into nature, apart from the natural attraction of the surrounding mountains and the Mediterranean coastline, there are the salt lakes of Torrevieja where you will find several species of birds including the pink flamingo. There is also a natural fun park known as Terra Natura which, along with its neighbor Terra Mitica, we give you hours of fun.

If you are the sporty kind, you will find plenty of watersports down by the coast which is not too far from Catral, the sports include sailing, diving, windsurfing, or maybe just watching the girls go by. Catral golfing has a lot to offer for the avid golf enthusiast. There are several courses in the nearby vicinity.

What to eat in Catral

Not counting the yummy Spanish gastronomy which is supplied in Catral, you can take part in wonderful cuisine from numerous assorted nationalities counting Dutch, Chinese, Indian, Cantonese, English, and Hungarian. You actually have to be really fussy if you cannot find something to go well with your taste buds in this area. The whole Costa Blanca is all about having fun, eating good food and drinking good wine. There are several different English and Irish pubs or restaurants in and around Catral, you can also sample some of the local Spanish cuisine in many good establishments here including El Pollo Catralense on Manuel Flores and San Remo Restaurante in Purisimina offering traditional Spanish and Mediterranean cooking.

The weather conditions in Catral

Right through the year, the weather conditions in the province of Catral are sun-drenched. You are virtually sure of sunlight throughout the year. It is regularly fairly hot in the summer and clement in the winter. Rainfall does not appear regularly but it is well established that it does rainfall every now and then. It can often mean a thirst-quenching pause from the faithful heat.
