Spain is a country blessed with pristine white sand beaches on its southeastern side, some of which are still untouched by excessive commercialism. While Torrevieja still retains its old world charms, it is truly touched by commercialism from the modern world. The modern architectures are proof that its economy is rapidly shooting up and the demand for more entertainment, amenities and infrastructure is at its peak. However, despite the commercialism that Torrevieja is currently experiencing, it is good to note that it still has not lost touch with its cultures and traditions as evidenced by the festivals and fiestas celebrated in this town all throughout the year. Torrevieja is truly a modern town amidst a rich cultural heritage.

The Carrefour group is the largest retail group in Europe and the second-largest in the world. It has over 15,000 stores which are operated either by the company itself or through different franchises. The first store opened its doors in 1957 in the French town of Annecy, the word carrefour means crossroads in French. Carrefour Torrevieja has opening hours of 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM seven days a week including most holidays.
