The city remains in the old town part of its medieval urban structure, confined by the walls of Intramuros Callosa, you can come across one of its original doors which is known as the Portal. Some of the buildings in the area date back from 1786.

Like other towns in this region there are several fiestas held in Callosa d’En Sarria throughout the year. For instance, the celebrations in honor of the patron saint of Callosa d’En Sarria … the Virgen de las Injurias … are held in mid-October. The celebrations have been around since 1860 and they are one of the largest cultural events in the area. This event also celebrates the Moors and Christians battle and is one of the most popular holidays of the region. From 1985, Moros y Cristianos has been declared a national tourist interested event.

If you are looking for some great nightlife, this part of Spain often celebrates well into the evening. Many of the shops are open late into the evening and many of the bars and restaurants open late into the night. For a more youthful night out on the town you can head up to the city of Benidorm.
