What is the position of Alfaz del Pi?

Alfaz del Pi is located on the Costa Blanca in the South East area of Spain. Alfaz del Pi, also known as L’Alfas del Pi, is close to the city of Benidorm. It is north of the city of Alicante and Elche, and south of Javea and Denia. The airport that you choose to arrive here at will depend on a few factors, most likely your origination airport. The provincial airport is Alicante Airport (El Altet) which is in between Alicante and Elche. There are two other airports that you could choose…Murcia Airport and Valencia Airport.

What to see in Alfaz del Pi

Alfaz del Pi is a Valencian town located in the municipality of Alicante. Population was 18,469 in 2006. The economy is based mostly around tourism and it has a large expatriate community including the second largest Norwegian concentration, along with large English and Dutch communities.

There have been in Roman remains found in Alfaz del Pi, and like many other coastal towns, Alfaz del Pi was open to attack by marauding pirates. All along the coast here are the remains of towers which were meant to defend themselves against this type of attack. The origin of the name of Alfaz del Pi is quite interesting. Alfas derives from the word meaning some fields in Arabic. The second word, Pi, comes from the Valencian word for pine tree. This is because the residents planted a pine tree in the church square in 1786. It was as a protest in demand of independence.

There are quite a few traditional fiestas held in Alfaz del Pi, this includes the mediaeval challenge which is held at the nearby Castell Conde de Alfaz which sees sword fighting, mediaeval jousting, and the mediaeval touch is given an extra topping with a beautiful mediaeval banquet. There is also an International Jazz Festival held in Alfaz del Pi.

There are many historical buildings in Alfaz del Pi including a Roman bridge and some Roman ruins. Planning restrictions have helped to maintain some of the historical integrity of the town, although Alfaz del Pi still remains a vibrant tourist area.

There are various events taking place throughout the year here. It doesn’t have the razzmatazz of the nearby cities of Benidorm or Alicante, but it does have a quiet charm of its own. If you’re looking for a lot more of the nightlife then you can head to the two cities outlined above. There is also two fun parks just outside Benidorm known as Terra Mitica and Terra Natura.

Alfaz del Pi has two beaches including a nudist colony. There are many amenities offered here to both the sunbather and the sports enthusiast. There is a beautiful promenade with plenty of bars and restaurants running along the 550 m long beach. You are looking for the golf, Alfaz del Pi golfing has a lot to offer as there are so many golf courses up and down this beautiful region.

There is so much mouth-watering cuisine on hand in this area from many unique nationalities including Hungary, China, India, German, English, Poland, Holland, and easily the most prevalent the national Spanish cookery. You shouldn’t have any trouble finding something to suit your part.

The climate in Alfaz del Pi

Sunlight is the general rule when it comes to climate in the region and in Alfaz del Pi. There are lovely hot sun-drenched summers and clement sun-drenched winters. Rainfall does not turn up frequently but it is well established that it does rain sometimes. It can very often involve an invigorating rest from the continuous heat.
